Search and Make a list of Potential Topics

The first step towards content writing is finding out the topics on which you can write. The easy way is to search for the blogs in your space and find out which one of them is doing well. The blog which is drawing more traffic is the one worth following. There are certain softwares like Quick Sprout Analyzer or Copyblogger through which you can get the list of blog posts organized in accordance with the social shares. The most attention gaining post would be at the top and definitely has maximum shares.

Now you have find out the topic which is drawing large traffic towards itself. What to do next? If you write on the same topic it will do well because audiences are same. But of course you don't want to be known as a copy cat. You don't want to be famous as a person who is reproducing the old information. The best thing is to take this topic and spin it. You can do many title variations and your post will do well. How this can be ensured? As original post has done well, your post may not do as well but it will do well enough due to same audience.

By simply replacing a word or two from other bloggers title you can create your own unique one.

Create an Outline

Once you have decided the topic on which you have to write, the next step is to create an outline for your blog. The outline should contain three things an introduction, a body and a conclusion. It's better to write the introduction and conclusion first and then write the body of your article. Also write the main points of the body in bullet form which would be later helpful for you in writing your article.

Do not write the introduction too long. It should contain only few paragraphs and should be convincing enough to make the readers to read the full blog. For body just decide three or four points you will cover in your blog. While writing your conclusion make sure that it briefly describes what your readers will going to learn while reading your blog. Creating an outline should not take more than 20 minutes and it is good to go for topics with which you are familiar.
